Description
Algo 8199 IP PoE+ Surface Mount Speaker is a high-efficiency network audio device with satellite speaker technology to extend audio coverage while reducing overall deployment costs.
As a SIP-compliant and multicast-capable speaker, the 8199 enables clear voice paging, emergency alerting, and scheduled announcements with wideband audio. It can power and supervise up to three Algo 1199 Satellite Surface Mount Speakers from a single PoE+ connection, making it ideal for scalable, cost-effective deployments in schools, healthcare, and commercial environments.
Mount to Solid Surfaces
The Algo 8199 IP PoE+ Surface Mount Speaker is purpose-built for installation on solid ceilings or walls made of concrete, brick, or wood. It complements the 8198 IP PoE+ Ceiling Speaker, which is designed for drop ceilings, while maintaining the same wideband audio performance, ambient noise detection, and full feature set expected across all Algo speakers.
Wideband Audio for Clear, Intelligible Paging
The 8199 IP PoE+ Surface Mount Speaker supports the Wideband G.722 HD voice codec, providing high intelligibility and clarity for IP paging, voice announcements, and emergency communication. This makes it ideal for environments where communication clarity is critical, such as schools, healthcare facilities, and commercial spaces. Ambient noise detection enables automatic volume adjustment for consistent audio levels across changing environments. This results in better STI-PA scores, supporting standards such as NFPA 72 and NEMA SB-40 across various industries.
Expand Audio Coverage at Reduced Costs
Using patented satellite speaker technology, the 8199 can power and supervise up to three 1199 Satellite Surface Mount Speakers from a single PoE+ network connection. This significantly reduces cabling, switch port usage, and endpoint licensing, lowering overall deployment costs while delivering reliable IP-based audio coverage. Satellite speakers are automatically detected and continuously monitored to ensure performance.
PoE+ Powered with Integrated Amplifier
Powered via PoE+ (IEEE 802.3at), the 8199 supports both its built-in speaker and any connected 1199 satellite s peakers without the need for external power. An integrated amplifier ensures consistent audio strength across extended coverage areas, while automatic supervision simplifies deployment and monitoring.
Using Multicast for Zone Paging
The 8199 IP PoE+ Surface Mount Speaker supports multicast zone paging for up to 50 zones, all configurable from a single device. Zones can be assigned in two ways: by mapping each multicast zone to a unique SIP extension (up to 50 page extensions available), or by using DTMF keypresses via the dial pad when making a page call—helping minimize SIP registrations.
Note: Additional zones can be created by registering individual Algo IP speakers for room-specific paging (e.g. classrooms). These registered speakers can also be set to receive multicast pages as members of selected zones.
Multi-Application SIP Extensions
The 8199 supports multiple SIP registrations for flexible use cases:
- Page (50 extensions) – for auto-answered public address announcements
- Emergency Alert (10 extensions) – plays a pre-configured WAV file for emergency or safety notifications
- Ring (10 extensions) – plays alert tones for telephone ringing or general notification
Up to 1GB of onboard memory is available for storing WAV files, supporting customized alerting for diverse environments.
Connect to VoIP and UC Systems
As a SIP-compliant and multicast-capable speaker, the 8199 integrates with leading VoIP and UC platforms including Microsoft Teams, Zoom Phone, and RingCentral. This speaker is compatible with most hosted/cloud and premise-based VoIP telephone systems. It supports multicast for zone paging and mass notification and can be configured using an intuitive web interface or auto provisioned at scale with RESTful API or ZTP options.
The 8199 can be used for live paging, zone-based announcements, bell schedules, and emergency alerts, all from a central communication source. With its integrated microphone, the 8199 supports two-way talkback when enabled, making it suitable for interactive paging and emergency communication in real-time.
